Ed and Jon had a similar stroke of brilliance when they conceived the idea of studdr. Both always appreciated a good joke told to them at a bar, or a saying they overheard behind their shoulder, and would feel compelled to pass that phrase on like a hot potato. But the saying never really got very far, and after a few days it would retire to the sayings graveyard in the sky. This infuriated them and they devoted a great deal of time to figuring out a way to breathe life into these sayings, to slap a pair of wings on them, so that they may soar across the world! Eddie dropped out of school, he quit his job, and he wouldn't leave his dingy basement for weeks at a time.
Living on bowls of Kix and boxes of Twinkies, he spent his time perusing sites like textfromlastnight.com and fmylife.com. One moment, as he studied the mathematical formulas and books of graphs he had compiled, he was enlightened with the idea of studdr.com. And with the conception of this website, suddenly the world became a fairer place, a place where witty sayings could be free from ostracism and banishment. Thanks to this team, there now exists a place that these clever and cute little phrases could live on for eternity, and none of them have to worry about being ignored or being ridiculed. Jon and Ed also got pissed that his friends never had any money, and that he was the one who always bought the beer. So studdr.com was sort of like killing two birds with one stone, not only would he become a messiah to witty quotations, but he also developed this method for his stoner buddies to make some extra cash.
